On October 26, we celebrated the 80th Jubilee Anniversary of the Polish Medical Association in Great Britain at the historic Palace of Westminster! The evening began with an exclusive drinks reception in the luxurious Pugin Room, a beautifully restored gem within the House of Commons that merges rich history with elegant charm.
The formal session featured three outstanding lectures by renowned professors in Oncology and Hypertension. Professor Agnieszka Michael took us on her journey to professorship, exploring ground-breaking work in cancer vaccines, immunotherapy, and electronic frailty scoring for oncology patients. Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak shared her expertise on precision medicine in hypertension treatment, focusing on genetics and individual responses. Finally, Professor Karol Sikora provided a forward-looking perspective on the future of UK healthcare.
The dinner followed in the Strangers’ Dining Room, and the evening closed with an inspiring performance by world-renowned violinist Magdalena Filipczak, whose talent left us in awe. This event marks a significant milestone for our association, fostering a space for Polish doctors, dentists, pharmacist and students to connect, share experiences, and grow together. We warmly welcome new members to join us on this journey!
