King Charles visited The Polish Social and Cultural Association, POSK in London on 5th February 2025. He was welcomed by the Polish Ambassador to the UK, Professor Piotr Wilczek, and POSK Chairman, Marcin Kalinowski.

Among the distinguished guests was a former president and current board member of the Polish Medical Association in Great Britain, a respected retired otolaryngology surgeon, and a founding member of The Medical Aid for Poland Fund Miss Bożena Laskiewicz.

During his visit, the King toured an exhibition of paintings by Polish artist and World War II veteran Feliks Fabian and met with members of the Polish Diaspora in Great Britain, including 102-year-old D-Day veteran Eugeniusz Niedzielski, as well as representatives from various Polish organisations, business leaders, social workers, teachers, and folk dance performers.

The programme included a Chopin recital by young Polish pianist Anita Łozińska, as well as a performance of popular Polish songs by young members of the POSK Theatre.

According to the POSK website, “the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, and there were no formal speeches.”

King Charles had previously visited POSK in 2010 as the Prince of Wales, accompanied by Queen Camilla, then the Duchess of Cornwall.

Founded entirely by contributions from the Polish community over half a century ago, POSK remains a vibrant cultural and social center for the Polish community in Great Britain.
