On June 1st, 2024, we celebrated the Jubilee Polish Doctors’ Ball. For the third time, we had the pleasure of gathering at the Roehampton Club, located in southwest London.
The highlight of the evening was a charity auction, with this year’s proceeds going to the “Wygrajmy Zdrowie” Foundation. Founded by the late Prof. G. Madeja, a distinguished oncologist, the foundation is a member of the European Cancer Patient Coalition. It actively collaborates with the Polish Urological Association, Polish Union of Oncology, Polish Society of Clinical Oncology, Polish Oncological Society, Kidney Cancer Association, as well as oncology clinics and local governments across the country. One of the foundation’s beneficiaries is the father of a doctor, who is a member of the Polish Medical Association in Great Britain.
We are immensely grateful to the renowned Polish artists in Great Britain who donated items for the auction: Ms. Basia Zarzycka, Ms. Joanna Ciechanowska, Ms. Arleta Berta, Mr. Zbyszek Wypych, Ms. Basia Kaczmarowska-Hamilton, Dr. Tomasz Kopeć, Ms. Ivona Supernat, Dr. Gabriela Mercik, Dr. Jakub Rostowski, Ms. Justyna Radulska, Ms. Katarzyna Ostaszewska, and the company Sami Swoi, who also supported our charity auction.
This year’s ball was particularly special as we celebrated the 80th anniversary of our organisation, the Polish Medical Association in Great Britain. To mark this occasion, we had the honor of hosting distinguished guests, including representatives from the Consulate of the Republic of Poland and Dr. Kornelia Król, President of the Federation of Polish Medical Organisations Abroad.
The atmosphere at the Polish Doctors’ Ball was unforgettable, thanks to the many guests and the lively dancing to music performed by the live band OutBeat. A special highlight was a short concert by one of our board members, Dr. Paweł Chomicki, who performed several songs with the band. We danced together until the last note.
We sincerely thank all attendees for their presence and for creating such a positive atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming everyone again next year. This event certainly stands out as one of the highlights in our calendar.
